How are you finding working as part of The Creative Group so far? 

So far I’ve been really welcomed - the team have been kind, fun, and happy to help me as I settle into the company. I’ve attended a few client meetings, got stuck into some social media planning, and cracked on with a few tasks, like this blog for example! The office is a really comfortable environment and I’m really enjoying getting to know the business and the people within it.

What’s your background? 

My first full-time job was in Sales and I always wanted to move into Marketing - after a year of creating bespoke holiday packages, I started to get involved with the social media side of things within the Company. After dipping my toe into social media marketing, and armed with an English degree from the University of Southampton, I decided to move into a Social Media and Communications role for a College group. Since then, I have been contracted to work for a FMCG company, and most recently have been Marketing Manager for an Insurance Recruitment agency. My Sales background, my degree, and my previous Marketing experience, have all added to my skill set and allowed me to get to where I am today!

Tell us something random about you

Whilst I was studying for my English BA, I worked as a farmer! From horses to tortoises, I fed, groomed, and mucked out a range of animals at a family farm park, which was both fun and challenging in equal measures! I’ve done all sorts from sheep racing to guiding cows through to neighbouring fields…it was quite an experience!

What’s your favourite part of Marketing?

It’s tricky because I think there’s joy in most, if not all, aspects. I love learning new things and I think that’s why I like working in Marketing - it’s constantly evolving and changing with its audience and the latest trends. I really enjoy seeing the results from campaigns as I’m an absolute geek for data, but I also love using my creativity and being able to write in a persuasive and imaginative way - hence the degree! 

What is your favourite quote?

‍ 

It sounds a bit cliché but I’m a big believer in positivity - my favourite quote is from Martin Luther King: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that”.
