Established in 2007, Acumen Law is an award-winning, innovative law firm based in Hove, East Sussex. Specialising in both business and personal legal services, the firm has garnered recognition for its unique approach to legal practice. Notably, Acumen Law was listed among the Financial Times’ Top 50 Groundbreaking & Innovative Lawyers in the UK and Europe and was voted a UK Rising Star by The Observer.
With a growing client base and an evolving brand identity, Acumen recognised the need to align its digital presence with the professional, streamlined experience it delivers in practice. Given its distinguished history and the strategic vision that has guided its growth, Acumen Law has established four dedicated websites to effectively serve its diverse audience. These include a firm-wide website, specialised platforms for business law and personal legal services, and a dedicated site for the renowned Acumen Business Convention, a prestigious annual event now in its 15th year.
Their primary goals were to:

The project began with bold creative ideas, including extensive animations and a zebra-themed design to align with their zebra-themed brand identity. However, through close collaboration, the concept evolved into a more refined and minimal approach that better reflected Acumen’s professional tone.
Working alongside Acumen’s internal team, who provided the initial homepage design, we used this as the foundation for the visual direction of the site. Our development team ensured the final product was fully optimised for desktop, tablet and mobile use, maintaining consistency in branding and delivering a seamless user experience throughout.
Key enhancements included:
- Interactive Services Slider: Positioned early in the user journey, this feature presents Acumen’s services clearly divided into Personal and Business categories, helping users find relevant information quickly
- Structural Overhaul: Legacy technical issues were addressed, including missing meta descriptions and inconsistent architecture, significantly improving SEO readiness and site usability
- Modern, Minimal Design: A streamlined layout replaced the original animated concept, offering improved accessibility and a stronger focus on strategic content delivery
